Tome Momirovski

short story writer, novelist, essayist, literary critic, translator. Born 4th April 1927 in Kicevo. Graduated from the Faculty of Philosophy in Skopje. Was editor-in-chief with the journals Idnina (Skopje), Kulturen zivot (Belgrade), the Mlad Borec newspaper (Skopje), and Radio Skopje. Also editor of the literary journals Soveremenost, Kulturen zivot and Pogledi in Skopje. Was Minister of Culture of S.R.Macedonia, President of the Cultural-Educational Community of Macedonia, President of the Comission for Culture and Art of the Federal Conference of Yugoslavia. Honorary vice-president of the Macedonian P.E.N. Centre. Member of the Macedonian Writers’ Association since 1957 and its secretary.
