Goce Smilevski (1975)
Bio-bibliographical note
Goce Smilevski was born in 1975 in Skopje. He was educated at the Sveti Kiril i Metodij University in Skopje (Comparative Literature), at the Chareles University in Prague (Czech Literature) and at the Central-European University in Budapest (Gender Studies; MA Thesis: “Abjection and Melancholia: The Representation of Female Bodies in the Novels of Milan Kundera”). He is author of the novels Inexperience (2000) and Conversations with Spinoza (2002).
Conversations with Spinoza won Macedonian Award Novel of the Year. It is short-listed for International Balkanika Award for the best book in Balkan region – the winner will be announced for the occasion of the Thessaloniki Book Fair at the end of May this Year (2004).
