The Macedonian and the Bulgarian P.E.N. Centers collaboration
BULGARIAN WRITERS IN MACEDONIA

As a part of the collaboration between the Macedonian and the Bulgarian P.E.N. Centre, the Bulgarian writers Georgy Konstantinov, president of Bulgarian P.E.N. Centre, V'tjo Rakovski, secretary, and Zdravka Eftimova, member, visited Macedonia from 3rd till 5th of November, 2005. During their stay in our country they had meetings and discussions with their colleagues from Macedonian P.E.N. Centre and literary evenings and meetings were organized for them. Their stay was accompanied by the presentation of the book "Bulgarian Literature in the New Century" published by the Macedonian P.E.N. Centre. The book presents Bulgarian contemporary poetry, fiction and essay.

The first literary meeting with colleagues and audience from Macedonia, the Bulgarian writers had on the 3rd of November in the premises of the Macedonian Writer's Association. Besides the speeches during this evening regarding the cooperation between the two P.E.N. centers, there was a promotion of the book "Bulgarian Literature in the New Century" and the writers Georgy Konstantinov, V'tjo Rakovski and Zdravka Eftimova read their works.

Similar literary meeting for the colleagues from Bulgaria was organized in Ohrid in the premises of the "Gligor Prlichev" library on the 4th of November. Besides the reading by our guests from Bulgaria, there was once again stressed the successful contacts and collaboration between the two Centres. It was announced that a delegation of the Macedonian P.E.N. Centre is going to visit Bulgaria in 2006 and the Bulgarian P.E.N. Centre is going to publish a book which will present the Macedonian literature.
