P.E.N. International - An Association of the World’s Writers

 

FOR THE RECOGNITION OF MACEDONIA

Writers, gathered at the 25^th international writers' conference at Bled, Slovenia, strongly support the urgent need of the Macedonian State to be internationally recognized. We base our support upon the Macedonian cultural identity and its linguistic right to its own name.

The fact that Macedonia is not recognized yet, is a dangerous situation that open the possibility of spreading the war, which has already been raging in Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina, to Macedonia, and beyond.
